Ride & Stride

Ride or walk the 3-mile trail

Love seeing horses around the park? Show your support! Saddle up your horse or lace up your sneakers and enter the Ride & Stride to benefit Walnut Grove Equestrian Center and surrounding trails. Dogs are welcome on leash.​


Registration costs per walker or rider

Commemorative t-shirt is included so you can sport your support.

  • Standard registration: $30

  • Enhanced registration (upgrade your donation, get a free lunch ticket and become eligible for prize drawings!): $100​

Your registration is tax deductible! Proceeds from this event improve the public horse trails and arenas at Walnut Grove Equestrian Center.

How it Works

  1. Register (see options below)

  2. Check in 8:30 a.m.

  3. Ride or walk the three-mile route to show your appreciation for San Marcos' great shared-use trails.​

Ride & Stride Registration Options​

Online

​Register and pay online, then;

  • Download and print the registration form, fill it out and bring it on event day (we need the release of liability part signed).

  • Equestrians also RSVP by October 14, 2026 with this EQ RSVP form to receive your departure time.​​​

  • Optional: you can reserve a stall for $10 at Walnut Grove Park so your horse doesn't need to be tied to your trailer while you check out the festival.

Old School Snail Mail

​

  • Download and print the registration form, fill it out and mail it with your check before October 5, 2026 to the address on the form.

  • Equestrians also RSVP by October 14, 2026 with this EQ RSVP form to receive your departure time.

In-Person on Event Day

  • Download and print the registration form, fill it out and bring it along with payment (check, cash, credit card) on event day.

Showcase your wares to our festival goers. A nominal vendor fee helps with our expenses. 501(c)3 organizations are exempt from fees but must still submit registration and agreement forms.

Help Promote our Event

Round up your posse, lace up your sneakers or saddle up your horse as you ride or stride your way along a three-mile trail loop that winds its way around Walnut Grove Park and the surrounding neighbourhood trails.

​

Contributions are fully tax deductible and support the maintenance of Horse Park, which is used for equestrian events, trail staging and emergency evacuation.​​
